Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the live sessions take place, and how can I access them?

For live sessions we will use Zoom. The links for each session will be found in the Learning Management System (LMS) platform that we will use (please see below).

It is important that you download the latest version of Zoom to your computer, and make sure your audio and video settings work so that you can actively participate in the course sessions. We would also recommend you to have a pair of headsets in hand.

At what time will the main sessions take place, and how do I know which time it is in my timezone?

Sessions will take place at 8-10am ET / 12-2pm GMT. If you click here, you can see at what time this is, in your timezone.

Where can I discuss with fellow participants and faculty?

In order to register for the course, you created an account at the Legal Empowerment Network. This account gives you access to the Network’s community discussions forum, and, more specifically, to this private category that we have created for the LELC 2021 with all participants and faculty.

Please click here to access the private category, and explore the discussions forum. We would encourage you to go ahead and introduce yourself by clicking on the topic “Introductions”.

It is very important that you remember the username/email and password for your Network account, since this will be your credentials to access the Learning Management System that we will use during the course (see below).

Where can I find all the course information & materials?

The Learning Management System (LMS) that we will use for the course is the open source software Open edX, via EduNEXT.

To access the platform, go to https://namati.org/network/learning-opportunities/course-catalog/, and then click on “Join Course”. If you are already logged in to your Network account, you should be automatically logged in to the LMS platform. If you are not logged in to your Network account, you will be prompted to introduce a username/email and password. This will be the same username/email and password of your Network account. Once you do that, you will be redirected back to the course catalog page, where you need to click on “Join Course” again.

In the LMS you will be able to access all the course information and materials, including the links to the live sessions. It is important that you regularly access this platform before and during the course, so that you don’t miss out on any important information or materials.

Who do I contact if I have any questions or problems?

You can contact Michael and Marta from the Legal Empowerment Network team by sending an email to networklearning@namati.org.
